Ryan Berg is an Australian writer drawn to stories about power, choice, and the emotional cost of growing into something greater, inspired by modern myth and classic coming-of-age fantasy.
Echoes of Power began as a single idea. One that lingered through long shifts underground in Australia’s mining industry. An avid fantasy and science fiction fan, Ryan first jotted it down in his phone as “A cool movie idea.” But the idea refused to stay small. When he finally opened his laptop and began writing, it grew into a modern myth shaped by loss, loyalty, and the weight of responsibility.
When he isn’t writing, Ryan balances FIFO work, training, running a cookie business (yes, cookies), cooking, and spending time with his fiancée.
Echoes of Power is a YA fantasy series set in a modern city, where fragments of forgotten gods awaken in the hands of teenagers who never asked for them.
Each character carries not only a divine relic, but an echo of the god it once belonged to. Lightning, tide, flame, and moonlight — forces that mirror their fears as much as their strengths.
This is a story about choice rather than destiny. About power that answers courage instead of bloodlines. And about the cost of standing when the world begins to break.
